Henning Hagen

With over 20 years of experience in the TMT (Technology, Media, Telecom) sector, Henning is a seasoned executive, advisor, and transformation leader. He has worked with dozens of leading TMT companies as a management consultant, including a decade as a partner at Booz & Company and PwC.

Fascinated by the rapid developments in technology and the fundamental changes ahead, Henning left consulting in 2022 to immerse himself in new technologies. He joined an enterprise SaaS startup as interim CEO and led the company through a series of strategic choice points around product-market-fit, go-to-market, and growth strategy including fundraising. More recently, he worked with The Carlyle Group to explore use cases for the transformative potential of AI. In addition, he remains an advisor and occasional investor in companies in AI and SaaS, leveraging his experience of having worked in several startups (ranging from bust to IPO, from bootstrapped to $200M in funding, and from being an intern to being a CEO) to help them achieve product-market-fit, develop profitable growth strategies, design scalable operating models, improve unit economics, grow customer lifetime value, secure venture capital, or plan exit strategies.

From 2013-2022, Henning was a partner at Booz & Company and PwC Strategy&, where he co-led the firm's strategy, operating model & organization transformation, and value creation businesses for the TMT sector. He advised C-level executives of leading hardware, software, solutions, and ecommerce companies on breakthrough organic and inorganic growth strategies as well as large-scale operating model and cost transformations, working most closely with CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, and BU leaders.

Henning began his career at Siemens AG in Germany before relocating to the U.S. to join Katzenbach Partners where he honed his consulting and client service skills.

Henning earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Economics from WHU (Otto Beisheim School of Management) in Germany and spent two semesters studying abroad in Tel Aviv, Israel and Guadalajara, Mexico.

Henning lives on Mercer Island, just outside Seattle, with his wife, two daughters, and three dogs.
